Fighting fit for 2008

Considering the racing season is drawing to a close for me I'm now waiting for an operation to remove a metal plate from my collar bone things should be calming down but it's the exact opposite and I've been ultra busy. That's my reason for neglecting my Preston Citizen Blog - hopefully this entry will fill in all the gaps!

Lots going on for new Ambassador

There has been quite a lot of highlights over the past few weeks including a TV screen test, training at Fitness First and ice bath recovery sessions (this is not such a great highlight), testing my CBR600RR race bike, reading the weather on BBC Radio Lancashire and I've become an Ambassador for Lancashire's RideSafe BackSafe Initiative.

Bike collector's surprise offer

I received a telephone call from Chris Wilson a race bike collector, the reason for his call was totally unrelated so the invitation to join him at one of the most prestigious motorsport social events of the year came totally out of the blue. Then when he said he wanted me to ride along side him on one of his bikes I was almost speechless - this was an opportunity not to be missed, our plans for the weekend were rapidly changed and an early morning start on Saturday morning was now on our schedule.

Memories of Festival of Speed

England's exams regulator is in discussions with the company behind this year's Sats fiasco to ensure that there is no repeat of the problems which delayed the delivery of millions of schoolchildren's test results.
