JIM is 68, stressed and ready to snap. At what? Anything; noisy neighbours, speeding cars, kids hanging about on the street corners... you name it, he'll moan about it; it’s the one thing he's good at.

He makes Victor Meldrew look like an amateur. Every day is starting to blend into every other, until one Halloween, when a rash act changes everything.

The Met welcomes Sheffield-based Reform Theatre Company with new show Housebound written by award winning Nick Lane.

Housebound’s story focuses on elderly couple Lucy and Jim and Ash, a parentless teenage criminal, whose life now belongs to the world of housebreaking and drugs.

In the middle of a robbery, Ash gets caught by the elderly couple and becomes the victim himself as they hold him against his wishes.

Over a period of time we follow this unlikely chain of events as secrets, regrets and turmoil are unearthed and the choices they have taken in life are reflected upon.

A Sheffield based theatre company, Reform Theatre was formed in 1998 by actor and director Keith Hukin.

Housebound is at the Met, Bury, on Tuesday, November 22, at 8pm. Tickets for the event are £10, £6 concessions. For more information please call the ticket office on 0161 761 2216.
