WANDERERS have extended the trial of Canadian international triallist Niall Thompson to a third month.

The 26-year-old's performances persuaded manager Lawrie Sanchez to keep him at Adams Park until January 25 at least.

Thompson has managed just one goal during his spell with The Chairboys, notching the winner against Exeter City in the LDV Vans Trophy, but he has added a new dimension to Wanderers' goal-shy attack.

He has also been hit by injury during his time in Bucks.

Wanderers boss Lawrie Sanchez has hailed Jason Cousins as the model professional.

Cousins, a veteran of the non-league days, has been on the subs bench for most of the season behind first choice centre halves Paul McCarthy and Jamie Bates.

But with Bates currently sidelined with a hamstring strain Cousins has returned to the first team and been Wanderers' most consistent performer.

Sanchez said: "Jason is an excellent pro. I hold him in high esteem. He's unfortunate that he hasn't played more games for us this season but whenever he has come in he has done very well for us.

"I said to him at the start of the season that Paul McCarthy and Jamie Bates would be my first choice pairing. He accepted it in the right manner. He's got on with playing in the reserves and his performances for them have been exactly the same as his performances for the first team. He's a first class pro.

"It's his testimonial season next year and he deserves it. To be able to come in like he has done deserves a lot of credit. You forget that Batesy is missing.

"Even at this level it is a squad system and he will still play his fair share of games for us. He's disappointed he's not the first choice but he's looked a first choice every time he's come in and I'm lucky I've got that luxury."

Tickets are now on sale for the FA Cup third round clash at home to first division Grimsby Town on January 6.

If Wanderers beat the Mariners they will be in the fourth round, and in with a chance of drawing out one of the big boys, for the first time in their history.

Fans who retain their Grimsby tickets will be given priority for fourth round tickets should Wanderers get there.

Normal league prices apply for the Grimsby game. Season ticket holders have until January 1 to buy their normal seats.

Wanderers wore their change kit of red and white quarters at Cambridge on Boxing Day so that the kitman would not have to spend his Christmas washing the club's traditional blue kit which was worn against Swansea on December 23.

Wanderers have now arranged their Berks and Bucks Cup third round match at Windsor and Eton for January 17.

A new website is encouraging Blues fans to take their views to the top by logging onto the site at www.duckhamsfansview.com.

Issues such as ticket prices, violence, racism and merchandising will head the agenda for the forum which plans to lobby the FA, government and Football League bosses.

Site spokesman Justin Fisher said: "Only by speaking up can Wycombe Wanderers fans have their say on the development of the game."
