We may be a decade into the new millennium, but it was a delight to step back into the sounds of the Seventies with veteran rockers 10cc.

The line-up may have changed more than once since those heady days, but Salford-born founder Graham Gouldman is still going strong at the age of 64.

Alongside him, belting out such wonderful tunes as Rubber Bullets, I’m Not In Love, Dreadlock Holiday and The Things We Do For Love, were the talented senior musicians and singers Mick Wilson, Mike Stevens, Rick Fenn and Paul Burgess. Together they performed immaculately to an appreciative audience, most of whom remember them first time around.

The multi-talented Gouldman started the set on his own, playing acoustics of songs he wrote, pre-10cc, for the likes of Sixties stars The Yardbirds, The Hollies and Wayne Fontana.

He was joined on acoustics one by one by all but drummer Rick Fenn.

After the interval, it was 10cc hits all the way. Gouldman and Co were perfect in their delivery as they gave fans a reminder of the diverse range of sounds, haromonies and beats within their impressive music.

They’re on the road until the summer — with a busy March and early April in England and Wales before gigs in Holland, Canada, Denmark, Germany and France, followed by two final shows in July back in England.
