LOUD, brash and at his arrogant best - Liam Gallagher is most certainly back.

Yes, the Apollo was filled with hordes of Oasis fans, eager to see what one of Manchester's most famous sons was capable of without his older brother.

And yes, the lack of any Oasis numbers - presumably so as not to give the previously mentioned missing elder brother a slice of the glory - was made almost more noticeable by their absence.

But the younger Gallagher brother, and the remaining members of Oasis that make up Beady Eye, did not disappoint.

Watching Gallagher swagger about the stage, almost daring fans to do anything other than adore what was going on before them, you couldn't help but be reminded of Liam 'The Lad' from his glory days at the height of his Britpop fame.

Opening with Four Letter Word, Beady Eye made it clear from the off they are very much a seperate entity to their previous incarnation.

It will come as no surprise that the band are heavily influenced by the icons of yesteryear, including The Beatles and The Who to name but a few.

But highlights included the melodic For Anyone, while The Roller and Standing On The Edge Of The Noise, which are all arguably anthems in the making.

And the wall of sound erupting from the stage was more than matched by the roars from the crowd.

With Liam back to his best, and the rest of the band on top form, fans can certinaly hope for great things from Beady Eye.
