One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson has thanked fans, who have started a campaign for No Control to be the group’s next single.
Since Tumblr user Anna kick-started the campaign, suggesting fans release it as a “DIY project”, the track has been played on Nick Grimshaw’s Breakfast Show and is trending worldwide on social media.
Only two singles – Steal My Girl and Night Changes – have been released from the band’s fourth album Four, which was released in November.
Anna and the other fans are calling for radio stations to play the single. She said they should also set a release date and promote the single on social media, submitting their own front covers.
Anna wrote: “We all agree that No Control should have been a single from Four, we all love the song and we all wanted to hear it on the radio.
“It doesn’t matter there were other songs worthy to be a single in the album, this is something the fandom loves and that has always generated a big enthusiasm.”
Her suggestion has been backed by other One Directioners.
