He won Eurovision, could Sweden’s Mans Zelmerlow now be set to top the UK charts?

Heroes, which he performed to take the 60th title on Saturday, is already at number three in the singles chart race, according to the Official Charts Company.

It is the highest-placed of three Eurovision songs in the top 40 so far, with Belgium’s Loic Nottet, who came fourth, at 21 with Rhythm Inside and Russian runner-up Polina Gagarina at 33 with A Million Voices.

But it looks like disappointment again for the UK entry Electro Velvet, which is currently at 53 with Still In Love With You after finishing 24th with just five points in Austria.

Their Eurovision performance saw primary school teacher and Mick Jagger tribute Alex Larke perform alongside former Voice contestant Bianca Nicholas for an electro-swing number.

But they ended up only finishing ahead of France, Germany and Austria in the competition.

Mans fought off the Russia’s Gagarina and Italy’s pop opera trio Il Volo to become the sixth Swedish winner and take the competition to Scandinavia in 2016.

OMI’s reggae-pop hit Cheerleader claimed the number one chart spot on Sunday for the fourth week running.
