Arnold Schwarzenegger has revealed he is proud of his accomplishments but would amend the bad choices he has made in his professional and personal life.

The 67-year-old Terminator star, who is separated from ex-wife Maria Shriver and has four children, admitted he would “correct” past mistakes he has made, but prefers to focus on the present.

“I would definitely go through any movies that I’ve done and made the wrong decision, so if I’ve made the wrong decisions politically, I would correct them. Or if I’ve made any wrong decisions in my personal life, I would correct them,” he said.

“But it’s always easy to be smart in hindsight, right? I don’t ever think about that because there’s too many things to really concentrate on that is real in life than what has happened.”

Arnie’s 25-year marriage to Maria hit the rocks after his secret affair with his housemaid was revealed in May 2011.

“It was me who screwed up. It was my biggest personal failure. We all fall at one time or another and this was a major fall,” he told the Daily Mirror.

“But I had to get up again because only losers stay down, winners get up. I had to move forward and say, ‘OK, now how do I heal and how can I bring everyone together again?’. Now I am absolutely delighted with my life.”

The star, who was Governor of California from 2003 to 2011, is proud of all his achievements.

“I’m pretty much proud of my acting career, my political career, my sports career so I’m proud of all those things that I have accomplished,” he said.

“I am very fortunate I had a lot of help because you can never do all of this by yourself. If I hadn’t had those great directors, those movies wouldn’t have been successful… I was very lucky to have the help and the guidance.”

He reprises his Terminator role for the fifth film in the series, Terminator Genisys, which also stars Emilia Clarke, Jason Clarke and Jai Courtney.

And he revealed he’s still in good shape to do the stunts required, saying: “I’m working out every day. I ride my bike every day for an hour minimum and if I’m up in the snow country in the winter, I’m skiing… so I do something everyday.

“And then I do the weight training also so I stay in pretty good shape. When you are in pretty good shape and you have to do certain stunts and all this action, it’s not more difficult when you’re older. I always stay in good shape.”

Terminator Genisys is in cinemas now.
