Coronation Street star Katie McGlynn has revealed Sinead Tinker worries about becoming a burden after a mini-bus crash leaves her unable to walk.

Sinead had surgery after suffering spinal injuries and could be in hospital for a long time. Boyfriend Chesney Brown (Sam Aston) is there to support her, but Sinead can’t help worrying that, if she is left with permanent injuries, the responsibility will be too much for her boyfriend.

Katie revealed: ”I think Sinead is worried about being a burden, which makes her even more upset, but Ches is so supportive and will stand by her through thick and thin. She’s his only focus, and I think this will make them even stronger as a couple. It’s been good to see the genuine relationship they have, and hopefully she will recover in time.”

And the actress revealed it will be a long time before her character can walk again. She said: “It’s a really long process, as it would be in real-life, and it’s a bit heartbreaking to see what she has to go through.

“But that’s what soaps are about, to show what really happens…”

Coronation Street airs on ITV on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
