When Beck won Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards, Kanye West said he should have given the gong to Beyonce, because she deserved it more.

Kanye later said backstage: “Beck needs to respect artistry and he should’ve given his award to Beyonce.”

Now it has emerged that Beck’s father David Campbell, an arranger, composer and conductor, worked on Beyonce’s 2006 album B’Day.

Kanye previously interrupted Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech at the VMAs, again claiming her award should have gone to Beyonce.

And it turns out Beck’s dad David has worked with her too, according to E! Online.

David arranged and conducted string arrangements for Beck’s album, Morning Phase, the record Kanye said didn’t deserve the Grammy.

Beck has since insisted he bears no grudges against Kanye, saying: “You can’t please everybody, man. I still love him and think he’s genius. I aspire to do what he does.”

And Kanye has even apologised.
