David Beckham has triumphed over his fashion designer wife in a poll of the most stylish Britons of all time.
The late Breakfast At Tiffany’s actress Audrey Hepburn, who held British citizenship, tops the list.
Former football star Becks is the highest-placed man, in third place, just one slot below Diana, Princess of Wales.
But his wife, Spice Girl-turned-designer Victoria Beckham, ranks lower in ninth position, despite her huge success with her fashion line.
Former 007 star Sir Sean Connery and singer David Bowie are the only other men in the top 10, in seventh and eighth place.
The Duchess of Cambridge (fourth), model Twiggy (fifth) and Tudor monarch Elizabeth I (sixth) complete the list, in the survey carried out to mark the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S6.
The research – 2,000 Britons were surveyed for OnePoll – also found that people believe women over 30 should avoid hot pants, mini skirts and tube tops.
Men of the same age should steer clear of ponytails, baggy below the waist jeans and dropped-crotch trousers.

1. Audrey Hepburn
2. Diana, Princess of Wales
3. David Beckham
4. The Duchess of Cambridge
5. Twiggy
6. Queen Elizabeth I
7. Sir Sean Connery
