Ben Affleck is set to produce a film about the Fifa scandal.
It is not known if the Batman star will appear in the movie about Chuck Blazer, the American football executive at the centre of the world’s biggest sports corruption scandal to date.
After eight days of negotiation Warner Bros has won a bidding war for Houses Of Deceit, a book by BuzzFeed investigative reporter Ken Bensinger about Blazer and his role in the Fifa corruption.
In May this year 14 officials and associates of the Federation Internationale de Football Association were charged in connection with an investigation into wire fraud, racketeering, and money laundering within the organisation.
Warrior’s Gavin O’Connor is attached to direct the film. He recently worked with Ben on thriller The Accountant for Warner Bros.
Anthony Tambakis will write the script. He worked with Gavin on 2011 fight drama Warrior as well as Jane Got a Gun, which Gavin stepped in to direct when the Natalie Portman western lost its original director in the middle of filming.
