John Bishop has got a new co-host for The John Bishop Show – himself.

The 48-year-old Scouse comedian could not contain his excitement after coming face-to-face with his new waxwork at Madame Tussauds in Blackpool.

Kevin admitted it was a “strange sensation” to see himself in such detail, but admitted it was “an honour and a privilege”.

He said: “They’ve done a brilliant job. It’s quite striking to be honest, because the things I thought they possibly get right, primarily the teeth, they’ve got perfect.”

The funnyman joked about being placed next to the models of ice skating champions (Jayne) Torvill and (Christopher) Dean at the attraction, rather than the likes of comedy legends such as Tommy Cooper.

He quipped: “Torvill and Dean! Cracking! He was very much the straight one, but she was so funny!”

John also revealed he has been approached about taking part in another Sport Relief challenge.

In 2012, he completed a 290 mile triathlon from Paris to London in five days to raise money for the BBC charity.

He said: “There’s conversations going on, but I’m old. Someone young needs to be doing it. They need to get One Direction doing a three-legged race or something like that, ’cause I’m past it. That’s my excuse.”

John is heading Down Under on a tour of Australia and New Zealand, and said he was looking forward to it.
