FOR the first time, children’s TV favourite Roary the Racing Car has zoomed into the theatres across the UK.

He made a pit stop at Preston and dozens of families left the sunshine outside to see how the little red car could be brought to life.

The show, called Champion of Champions, stars the voices of racing legend Sir Stirling Moss as narrator, comedian Peter Kay as Big Chris and former Formula One commentator Murray Walker as himself in animation form as he commentates on the big race at Silver Hatch racetrack.

Pulling out all the stops, the show features of animated film footage, actors in costume and impressive mechanical cars complete with moving mouths and eyes.

Featuring all the main characters from the hit show from the Channel Five show, the stage version sees Roary battle it out with Maxi, Cici, and all the other cars to see who would be crowned Champion of Champions.

The show was packed with songs and interactive touches to keep the children’s eyes firmly on the stage.

Overall, an enjoyable experience for Roary fans big or small. Or even those who haven’t watched the show before.
