Dog bin thanks to South Ribble Borough Council

Well done to South Ribble Borough Council for putting an extra dog bin near the main field at Moss Side sports green, off Moss Side Way, Leyland.

It is a popular dog walking route and there were too few bins - positioned only at the exits to the field - meaning a lot of dirty dog owners would drop their bagged up dog poo on a grass verge near the main field.

I've walked my dog in this area several times since the new bin was installed and the 'dropped poo' problems seems to have eased somewhat - if you are one of these dog owners, don't do it again!

However, the council might want to put their resources into educating horse riders to clear up their horse's poo!

Since the bridleways were opened up in this area there has been huge dollops of manure all over the pathways that are also enjoyed my many children.

Surely horse riders could get off their animals and kick the manure onto the field edge!

Dog owner, Leyland (address supplied)
