As a former vicasr of St Saviour’s Church, Bamber Bridge, I wish to add to your recent tribute to David Wilson, the local sporting stalwart, who died recently.

For many years Dave was deputy head teacher of St Saviour’s CofE School, Bamber Bridge, where he was much respected.

He treated everyone alike and brought out the best in all pupils, including my own children.

Many people, especially ex-pupils and their families, will have been saddened by his recent death.
