A Preston dental nurse is taking part in the BUPA Great Manchester Run tomorrow to raise cash for a good cause.
Charlotte Sutton, a dental nurse from Fulwood, Preston, is hoping to raise lots of cash for the National Autistic Society (NAS), a UK charity for people with autism, their families and carers.
It comes as the BUPA Great Manchester Run celebrates its sixth anniversary tomorrow.
It is one of the most prestigious 10 kilometre races in the world, starting and finishing in the city centre and featuring a whole range of fun activities and entertainment across the city.
Many celebrities from TV and radio take part in the event along with international athletes from around the world.
Charlotte said: "I have been hard in training for the BUPA Great Manchester Run and am looking forward to a great day on Sunday.
"My mum is a teacher and works with people with autism so I have come to hear quite a lot about this lifelong, disabling condition and wanted to do what I could to help.
"So far I have collected around £200 but am hoping to get more as I know that all the money raised will go to help the NAS to support people with autism."
If you want to sponsor Charlotte, call 020 7903 3529 or send a cheque made payable to The National Autistic Society, quoting Charlotte Sutton, Great Manchester Run to Fundraising Team, The National Autistic Society, 393 City Road, London, EC1V 1NG.
NAS Director of Fundraising, Trevor Anderton, said: "We are thrilled that so many people have decided to take part in the BUPA Great Manchester Run this year and support the NAS.
"The event looks like it is going to be lots of fun.
"All the money raised will go towards providing vital services to people with autism, such as residential services, resource centres and various other means of supporting local people with autism and their families and carers."
