A variety of changes are being made to the University of Central Lancashire's Mitchell and Kenyon Independent Cinema.
The shake-up follows a review of the cinema's operation and will include a new user-friendly website, changes to the entrance with higher profile branding and moe detailed information boards.
Weekly film screenings will end with the screening of Libero on Saturday and a UCLan Student Union Film Society is currently being formed and films, festivals and events which are hosted by the Film Society and open to the general public will be announced on the cinema website and elsewhere.
It is intended that the Film Society will soon be hosting either weekly or bi-monthly screenings and these will be open to members of the public.
There will also be a more concentrated focus on festivals and screenings undertaken in conjunction with UCLan faculties and external partners.
A Polish Film Festival, in conjunction with UCLan Film and Media and the Polish Cultural Institute in London, is also being planned for later this year.
