Epic Battle got his career back on track when winning at Lingfield earlier this month and he can keep up the good work in the Coral App Download From The App Store Handicap at Wolverhampton.

William Haggas’ charge looked a potentially useful type when winning on his third juvenile outing at Thirsk last September, only to slip and take a heavy fall after the line.

That tumble obviously caused some problems as the son of Acclamation was off the track for well over a year afterwards, reappearing at Lingfield nearly three weeks ago.

Epic Battle showed no ill effects from his lengthy spell on the sidelines as he ran out a half-length winner over Mystery Bet, although he was made to work hard for the victory as he looked sure to be beaten half a mile from home.

He showed plenty of determination to score, though, and given that was only his fourth career start and his first in quite some time, Haggas will surely be expecting plenty of progress over the winter months.

Living The Life seems to love it at Wolverhampton and should be on the premises once again in the Ladbrokes Handicap.

The three-year-old was a winner off a mark of 70 at the start of October and the handicapper duly hit her with an 8lb rise for a three-and-a-quarter-length verdict.

She has shown she is more than capable of holding her own off that kind of perch, though, placing on two subsequent outings, and she should go well again.

Gwael can make it third-time lucky in the Coral App Download From The App Store Maiden Stakes at Southwell.

Related to Group Three winner Laaheb, Gwael has placed on each of her outings date, finishing third first time out at this track before claiming a second place on her latest outing at Hamilton in June, despite showing many signs of inexperience.

Trainer James Tate has given her plenty of time since that run and Gwael could be one to follow if she can get on a roll.

Pendra was possibly a little fortunate to win on his fencing bow but nevertheless rates as the leading contender in the lingfieldpark.co.uk Novices’ Chase at the Surrey venue.

Second in Grade One company over hurdles, he made a seamless switch to the larger obstacles when winning at Carlisle last month.

Admittedly luck was on his side as his main rival, Eduard, made a serious jumping error at a crucial stage but Pendra was travelling just as well as that runner throughout.

His near four-length verdict may well have flattered him slightly, but Pendra’s neat round of jumping there demonstrates his potential in this sphere.

Jean De Florette looked pretty useful in winning at Chepstow earlier this month and can follow up in the ARC Supports Retraining of Racehorses Novices’ Hurdle.

He should certainly make his mark over fences in due course but has proved capable enough over the smaller obstacles and in bumper company.

Nigel Twiston-Davies’ charge showed he can handle heavy ground that day, a factor which could prove crucial here as testing conditions are anticipated.

Cloudy Dawn should appreciate the step up in trip for the Beechwood & Easterside Social Club Handicap Chase at Sedgefield.

Two and a half miles looked far too sharp for him at Southwell last time so it is to his credit Cloudy Dawn was only beaten two and a half lengths in third.

Hawk High made an excellent start to his National Hunt career with a wide-margin Aintree verdict and can follow up in the Newton Aycliffe Working Mens Club Juvenile Hurdle.

The odds-on favourite failed to fire on Merseyside that day but Hawk High ran out a thoroughly convincing nine-length winner, staying on stoutly all the way to the finish.

Hawk High must shoulder a penalty for that success here but the extra weight should be merely a minor inconvenience.
