Police in Preston have issued a warning after a bag was stolen from a shopper on Thursday containing potentially dangerous prescription drugs.
A 35-year-old Preston woman was shopping in the city's open air market during Thursday's car boot sale.
She left her handbag unattended for a just a few seconds and when she went back to retrieve it, it had been taken by an opportunistic thief.
The bag contained a pillbox containing 186 Tramadol Hydrochloride tablets.
The drugs are prescription only, high strength pain killers usually prescribed to sufferers of severe arthritis.
Police say anyone taking these tablets without the guidance of a doctor or along with other drugs could put themselves at serious physical risk.
If anyone finds these tablets or is offered some tablets should report it to Preston police on 01772 203203 or take them to their local police station.
