A CYCLIST from Lancashire has died after losing control of his bike in Pateley Bridge near Harrogate, police said.
The accident happened at 4pm on Friday when the 38-year-old cyclist was riding with a friend on the B6265 outside Lambs Hill farm on the road from Greenhow to Pateley Bridge.
Police said the man from Lancashire, who has not yet been named, was travelling from the direction of Greenhow down Red Brae Bank towards Pateley Bridge with his friend, who was also on a bicycle. The cyclist lost control and collided with a stone wall sustaining fatal injuries.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, officers said.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward by calling 101.
