SEAN Dyche says the summer 2015 transfer window is the most difficult he has known in management.

The Burnley boss remains in the hunt for players to strengthen his squad in the hope of pushing for another Premier League return.

Burnley’s wait for a first win since returning to the Championship continued last night as they fell to a 2-0 loss away at Ipswich Town.

The Clarets have spread the recruitment net further afield, with latest signing Rouwen Hennings coming in from Bundesliga 2 side Karlsruher SC, following on from Belgian striker Jelle Vossen making the move from RC Genk.

But Burnley’s search for new signings has centred largely on the English market, with Matt Lowton, Tendayi Darikwa and young striker Chris Long also coming in.

Henri Lansbury is high on the wanted list, although Burnley are being made to work for their target with Nottingham Forest digging their heels in, while a loan move for Villa defender Nathan Baker cannot by ruled out.

Dyche is having to play a patient waiting game to get the players he wants.

“This window has been as hard as I’ve known,” said the Burnley boss.

“Lots of time has been spent on it, virtually all summer through to now. There are still loads of phone calls and it’s still very time consuming.

“They are things that can be done very quickly and easily and suddenly now become very complicated – not all but some.

“But you have to do what you have to do, that’s the market and the reality of it.

“Everyone wants more and situations do take longer sometimes.”

But Dyche maintained there are irons in the fire.

“There are a lot of things ongoing,” he said.

“As I’ve said over the weeks we need all the i’s dotted and t’s crossed in order to get things finally done.

“We’re waiting as we speak on a number of situations.”

Dyche said he would not be averse to the transfer window closing before the season starts “A couple of Premier League managers have spoken about it recently about getting the window done before there’s a ball kicked,” he added.

“Now different things get in the way with squads and situations.

“It may be something that will be looked at but it is what it is and we have to get on with it.

“We’re working hard on situations that we think will help us move forward.”
