A HASLINGDEN man will appear in court today to answer charges of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl.
The 56-year-old man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, will appear at Burnley Magistrates' Court in relation to an incident in Haslingden.
Police were called to Birch Avenue on Friday night to investigate an allegation of sexual assault.
The defendant was arrested that night and interviewed by police throughout the weekend.
He is charged with having sexual activity with a child.
