A GROUP of Darwen car enthusiasts who drove the length of the country in vehicles 20 years old have raised over £1,000 for charity.
The volunteers took part in the LeBog charity race from Lands End to John O'Groats last month to raise money for a number of charities, including Derian House, Moggie's Cat Rescue and a leukaemia charity.
Shaun Singleton, 42, from The Sidings, helped organise the rally with his friend Ian Hunt, 38, of Milton Close.
Shaun raised more than £450 with his award-winning 1958 Morris Minor and the group have raised a total of £1119.57.
A cheque for £604.57 has been sent to Derian House, one for £315 has been sent to leukaemia charity Alupal and the final £200 will be presented to Moggies.
The group set off from their local pub The Borough in Grimshaw Street, Darwen, on April 5 and returned to the town at lunchtime on Easter Monday.
