SOROPTIMISTS in Rishton and Great Harwood raised £1,850 for charity during the last year.
At the annual installation ceremony at the Auberge Restaurant in Rishton, retiring president Dorothy Casey thanked members for raising such a large sum. It will be shared between the East Lancashire Hospice and Women Survivors of War.
Mrs Casey went on to install the new joint presidents for the coming year, Beryl Timmins and Mavis Dickinson, who have chosen Marie Curie Cancer Care and the Handicapped Children's Pilgrimage Trust as their charities.
