A YOUNG dad attacked his then ex-partner after he claimed a party was going on at her home and he had gone to take their baby son away.
Burnley magistrates heard how Luke Pohrebinyk, 24, turned up at the victim's home at 2am. He appeared with the infant in his arms, punched her in the mouth as he held the tot and then walked off with him.
The defendant, who had been drinking, then brought the baby back to his screaming mother, but left the victim with a swollen, bleeding and cut lip.
He was arrested and interviewed and claimed she had been aggressive towards him.
Pohrebinyk then offended on bail, taking a van from a farm whilst banned and sparking a chase involving a police helicopter, the court was told. Pohrebinyk, said to be getting back together with Miss Coles, was jailed for 132 days by a district judge.
Pohrebinyk, of Waterside Terrace, Bacup, admitted damage, assault by beating and taking a vehicle without consent, driving while disqualified and with no insurance on July 15. He was also banned from driving for two years.
