Two men from Preston and a third man from Kendal, in Cumbria, who appeared before magistrates in Kendal yesterday in connection with the seizure of 135kg of cocaine, have been remanded in custody.
Darren James Michael Morris, 32, from Preston and Mark Seel Neville, 41, from Preston, who are charged with the fraudulent evasion of prohibition importing a class A drug along with Peter Michael Hannigan, 48, from Kendal, will together appear before Carlisle Crown Court on July 7.
Drugs were discovered when two vehicles were stopped and searched entering a port in the UK on Saturday morning.
The drugs seizure was the result of an on-going investigation by officers from Cumbria Police headquarter's CID unit, assisted by Lancashire Constabulary and HM Customs and Revenue.
