A tree has been planted in memory of a Penwortham social worker killed last month.
Fellow workers from the Preston Supported Tenancy Scheme in Harewood Road planted the magnolia during a special ceremony to remember Philip Ellison.
The 47-year-old dad-of-three, of Leyland Road, died after suffering stab wounds at Glebe Cottage, a supported housing block in Glebe Close, Fulwood, on April 7.
A spokesman for Lancashire County Council said: "It was something that the staff at the supported housing scheme decided to do themselves.
"There are plans being discussed for a permanent tribute to Philip in conjunction with the wishes of his widow."
Robert Searle, 51, has been charged with murder and remanded to a secure unit.
He is set to return to Preston Crown Court on October 20.
