£50,000 haul after cannabis Samlesbury farm raid


Police officers have confiscated more than £50,000 worth of drugs and other illegal material after a raid on a property in Samlesbury.

They discovered a what was described as a large sophisticated cannabis farm in Preston New Road, Samlesbury with an estimated value of £20,000.

Also recovered during this operation was more than £32,000 worth of contraband including 1,134 bottles of spirits, 2199 bottles of wine, around 500x50g pouches of tobacco and quantity of cigarettes. Along with the 60 cannabis plants £2,000 cash and associated drugs equipment.

As a result of a Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) Operation being conducted around Garth and Wymott prisons, near Leyland, one man was arrested with over 400 tablets which are suspected to be ecstasy and another male was arrested for possession of a Class C controlled substance after the drugs were found on his person and further drugs were found concealed in a vehicle which has been seized.

The operations were part of Lancashire Constabulary's Protecting People Week which has seen initiatives across the county.
