A spokesperson for the police said: "We attended and attempted to speak to a man in connection with the offence.
"After initially refusing to leave the property, a man in his 40s from Blackburn was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and is in custody."
Residents spotted police officers and vehicles parked up in Oban Drive, partly blocking the road this morning.
Photos shared on Facebook by Shadsworth community group, Shad Chefs, show around eight vehicles and a number of officers at the scene.
One person commented on the group’s Facebook post claiming the large police presence on Oban Drive has been “a regular occurrence the last few days” due to people “shouting and threatening each other”.
A spokesperson for the police confirmed “no one was injured”.
