Police are investigating after reports of an unprovoked assault in Preston.
According to the British Transport Police, a man was “minding his own business” on the platform at Preston Station when he was “kicked in the ribs and punched in the chest".
A man has been arrested and charged with common assault.
A British Transport Police spokesperson said: “A passenger was stood on the platform at Preston, minding his own business, when a man (not known to the victim) kicked him in the ribs and punched him in the chest in an unprovoked assault.
“Victim detained male, we arrested [a man] and charged him with common assault.”
