A police officer was kicked in the face by a woman during an incident at a railway station.

The woman’s partner was also found to have more than £1,000 in cash on him, and a search of his home uncovered a large amount of cannabis.

British Transport Police officers attended Preston station to deal with a drunk and disorderly couple who were refused travel and told to leave the station.

Officers said the woman refused to moderate her behaviour and was arrested for being drunk and disorderly.

During the arrest, she allegedly kicked out at her partner and was further arrested for a domestic abuse-related assault.

She then reportedly kicked an officer in the face, which did not result in a serious injury.

She received a £90 penalty notice for being drunk and disorderly and was bailed for the other two offences.

Her partner also refused to leave the station and was said to be abusive towards officers.

A search uncovered £1,000 in cash on his person. Officers then searched his home and found a large amount of cannabis.

The cash was seized as suspected proceeds of crime, and he was arrested for possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply.

He was given a £90 penalty notice for being drunk and disorderly and was bailed for the money laundering and drug offences.
