A CONTROVERSIAL fundraising calendar featuring semi-naked photographs of North West Air Ambulance members has been banned from sale in ambulance premises.
Staff and supporters of the North West Air Ambulance from across the county posed for photoshoots for the risque “Bare in the Air” calendar, which has gone on sale through the Air Ambulance headquarters and Booths supermarkets.
But The North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust (NWAS) has been quick to distance itself from the calendar and the separate organisation, citing issues of the dignity of staff.
A statement from the NWAS said: “The trust has a clear duty to protect the dignity at work of its staff and in the light of concerns raised by some members of staff regarding the nature of the content of this calendar is not allowing its sale from NWAS premises.
“Notwithstanding this decision, the trust recognises the valuable service the Air Ambulance provides to the people of the North West.”

if our sticky fingered government funded it instead of helping itself to whatever it wants at our loss and leaving essential services like this to rely on charity then there would be no need for it anyway.
