A Lancashire man is to appear in court charged with terror offences.
Justin Cartwright, 37, from Woodville Road, Penwortham, is charged with five counts of collecting information which may be useful to someone who commits or prepares for an act of terrorism, contrary to section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000.
He has also been charged with two offences of making an explosive substance for an unlawful purpose.
Cartwright, who was arrested on Tuesday as part of a joint operation involving Lancashire Constabulary and the North West Counter Terrorism Unit, is due to appear before Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
After his arrest earlier this week police said there was no immediate threat and the arrest was not linked to Islamic extremism.
