EAST Lancashire club supremo Margo Grimshaw told revellers to "Go to Hell" last night as the doors re-opened at a Blackburn night-spot.

Lancashire Evening Telegraph columnist Margo was called on to perform the opening ceremony at Heaven and Hell.

The new club, which was formerly Utopia, Peppermint Place and The Cavern, was brought back to life by Blackburn businessman, Peter Clarke.

Hundreds of clubbers turned up to make sure the club's first night was a success.

Blackburn's Heaven and Hell is, according to its owners, the seventh and biggest club owned by Peter's Entrepreneurial Leisure company.

Last night Peter, a former doorman, said: "I'm delighted it has gone really well. We had plenty of people from Blackpool who came over but there was also plenty of people from my home town -- Blackburn."

The club has undergone a £1.5million refurbishment that has transformed the club's three main rooms into Heaven, Hell and Purgatory.

The three different rooms have three different music policies which managers said was designed to give revellers the complete night out.

Margo was spotted mingling with members of the Emmerdale cast. She said: "They have done a wonderful job."

Staff at town centre pubs said they were busier than normal last night. Managers at the Postal Order in Darwen Street said its trade had been given a boost on the club's first night.

The club's re-opening means Blackburn now has two large nightclubs again. Pubs and clubs are hoping it will re-invigorate the nightlife scene.

A spokesman for Lancashire Constabulary said they were not aware of any incidents and that the night was trouble free.
