TIGHT bowling was the order of the day to put pressure on Oxton on a good batting track and that was what prevailed.

The opening partnership of Dugdale and G. Thomason kept the runs down but didn't bring any wickets. Stand in skipper Dugdale then introduced Bentham at one end and Will Banner at the other and both picked up an opening batsman. The next two wickets fell relatively cheaply and with Oxton at 67 for 4 Leigh were in the box seat. However, a quick fire partnership of 76 from Gauntlet & Dewhurst brought Oxton back in to the game but when Dewhurst fell for 33 this brought the youth of Oxton to the wicket. Wickets then fell at regular intervals and the prize wicket of Gauntlet (57) was picked up by Bentham. G. Thomason got the final wicket 5 overs from the end and he finished with 2 for 27. Will Banner also picked up 2 for 18 and . Every single player played a part in this victory and they can all be proud of the way they played.
