GENEROUS shoppers at a Burnley supermarket helped raise more that £200 for Hospice Care for Burnley and Pendle.
It was collected by volunteer worker, Ken Goldie, who sold sunflower badges in the foyer of Asda, in Princess Way.
The hospice has an army of helpers for fundraising or working with patients and on reception.
June is the nationally recognised Hospice Sunflower month, where hospices across the UK sell sunflower emblems to raise money.
Hospice Care for Burnley and Pendle, based at Pendleside at Reedley, cares for local people suffering from cancer and other life-threatening illnesses and has to raise over £1.1million this year towards running costs of £1.5million from donations and fundraising events.
Fundraising manager, Kaye Bartle, said: "We are very grateful to Asda for allowing us to collect in their store and to their generous customers for supporting this campaign.
"Without the support of the local community the hospice wouldn't exist."
