I SUPPORT wholeheartedly the recycling effort in the borough.

From the number of brown bins put out fortnightly in my area, I think my neighbours also appreciate this service, especially in the garden "growing season".

The newspaper bag is too small for my collection every two weeks; however -- as I drive a car -- I don't mind taking the extra up to a local recycling facility. By the way, are you able to request an extra bag?

What I do find lacking is the dispersal arrangements for plastics -- we do not have the black bin or plastic bag. Since Asda Pilsworth began their re-organisation and the removal of recycling bins, it has become a long out-of-the-way journey to dispose of plastic bottles. Are the recycling facilities re-sited now in their new designated area?

Containers are often full to overflowing. Likewise, those for foil. Who is supposed to empty these?

Tidiness around recycling sites leaves a lot to be desired and I realise that the public are often to blame. But what else can people do when the containers are full except to leave their full plastic bags on the floor?

Could someone please answer these questions and tell us what happens to the materials we recycle? What uses is it put to and how?
