LAUGHS until late are guaranteed with a double-whammy comedy event in aid of Greater Manchester Headway House.

Based at Withington Hospital, Headway House is a day centre for brain injured people and the Headway support group is run locally by Whitefield man John Cottom.

Mr Cottom suffered a brain injury several years ago when he was in collision with a wall while riding his bicycle.

The day centre has organised a charity football match followed by a comedy night at the Frog and Bucket on Sunday, July 11.

Featuring in the football match will be funnymen from Peter Kay's hit series Phoenix Nights and stars from Coronation Street.

The fun will continue into the evening, from 7.30pm to 11.30pm, with a night of stand-up featuring Archie Kelly, Steve Edge and Justin Moorhouse from Phoenix Nights and comedian Greg Cook.

Tickets for the evening are £10 and the venue for the football match has yet to be confirmed.

Contact Maggie Cottom on 0161 773 0879 for tickets.
