A PRESTWICH primary school has got more than just a park view to boast about thanks to the talents of two parents.

Mums Debra Dooley and Jane Crocker went armed with their paintbrushes to brighten up the playground of Park View Primary School, near St Mary's Park.

And the artistic pair have created an impressive set of colourful murals that have brought a smile to the faces of both the pupils and staff.

The idea came about when BAe Systems, in Chadderton, donated the eight boards as part of their commitment to helping in the community.

School governor Alan Quinn, who works for the company, said: "The parents painted the boards in their own time and it only took them a couple of weeks. They are fantastic and really brighten up the playground, creating a nice environment for the children to play in.

The murals feature a dinosaur scene, farm animals, sea life, a jungle scene and a space man and his rocket.
