THEY'RE potty about plants! That's Bury woman Pamela Lomax and her business partner Angela Currie who are growing their thriving Garden Gifts company.

The small, but busy workshop in the garage of Angela's home in Bowland Close acts as the nerve centre of the business.

She said: "We started our company last November and we provide hanging baskets -- complete with with plants -- one-off bedding plants and wicker and wall baskets.

"We also hand-paint all our own pots in pastels, buy in all the flowers and plants and arrange them.

"Between us, we have five children and we wanted to work from home.

"We've done a lot of studying involving gardens. At the start, we sold our products through the likes of craft faires and schools."

Pam (40), added: "We have supplied a number of pubs and restaurants too. We're getting a lot of business, particularly from our friends.

"We have a workshop in the garage of my home and that's where everything is done and prepared."

Pam used to run a fashion business before setting up her new venture while 37-year-old Angela was a social worker.

To show off their colourful range of pots and plants, both businesswomen recently staged a successful open day.

And their pots will soon be sporting a range of stencil designs to complement the pastel shades which adorn the plant holders.
