A CHARITY fun day at a motor racing circuit is set to go with a bang -- in fact a chitty, chitty, bang, bang!

For Bury-based organiser John Francis has acquired the services of the vehicle used in the smash-hit 1968 film and passenger rides will be one of the attractions.

The event will be held at the Three Sisters Race Circuit in Wigan on Friday, August 6, with proceeds going to Whizz Kidz, a charity that provides motability aid to disabled children.

John, chairman of the Dayz of Funder Motorsport Club which organises the day, is hoping to attract visitors from the Bury area. His target for the charity is £10,000.

The BBC GMR radio bus will broadcast live on the day and there will be a display of motorcycle side cars, a skid-control car demonstration, a helicopter landing, and passenger rides in sports and racing cars.

There will also be fairground rides, historic vehciles on display, track sessions and a demonstration of auto testing.

Any enthusiast interested in showing or driving their vehicle on the day, or anyone wanting tickets or further information, should contact John Francis on 0161 797 3566 or email him at jpfrancis@jpfcharity.co.uk. Admission is £2 for adults (£1 concessions).
