I WRITE in response to your article on kids playing football on the streets.

I am also a parent of two children and I agree with one of your correspondents that these do-gooders need to leave the kids alone to play football on the streets. I too have had balls pinched off the kids.

It is these same do-gooders that complain when the kids ride their bikes and rollerblades over their flags and come out swearing and shouting.

Yet come the school holidays they have their grandchildren around and then it's OK for them to play with their football and on their bikes or blades.

They are hypocrites.

Your correspondent is right, they were born middle aged.
