BURNLEY FC catering manager, Chris Gibson, is appealing for more volunteers to join him on a fund-raising cycle ride, '500 Miles For Burnley'.

Chris, a keen cyclist who completed the Land's End to John O'Groats trek for charity last year, has pledged to cycle across the country in a bid to raise more money for the club.

So far 10 fellow fans have agreed to take in the sponsored bike ride with him - and Chris is looking for more to come forward.

He said: "We've had a great response so far and there are already 10 people joining me on the ride.

"I'm looking for maybe a couple more people to join me on a great trip that will be a real experience, as well as helping out the club."

On the epic journey, Chris plans to visit as many different supporters' clubs as possible, as well as several venues which have been significant to Burnley Football Club over its history.

The planned pilgrimage starts with a visit to the South West Clarets in Exeter, before heading to the London Clarets, then Orient Football Club and the FA headquarters at Soho Square.

Chris will visit as many different supporters' clubs as possible as he ventures from the West Midlands Clarets towards Lancashire through Cheshire, Manchester, Rossendale, Accrington and Burnley.

The entire route takes the group on a trip of around 500 miles, following the call to 'Walk Up for Burnley' - and the journey would end with a lap around the Turf Moor pitch ahead of the final game of the season, against Sunderland on Sunday May 9.
