LEIGH'S Turnpike Gallery is the venue for a unique exhibition of photography from the borough's French twin town next month.
"The Best of " -- 17 years of Angers Festival du Scoop -- will be on show from September 6 to October 18 and includes 100 prize winning photographs by journalists .
Images portray many world changing events of the 20th century including the fall of the Berlin Wall to famine in Somalia and Sudan, from the Olympic Games to scientific discoveries.
The show has previously been on tour to Beijing, Arles and Osnabruck.
A gallery spokesman said: "We are grateful to the festival director and his staff for help in bringing the exhibition to Leigh."
