ROLLS-Royce’s East Lancashire workers have received another boost after the firm won a £245million deal with THAI Airways International.
The aerospace giant, which employs 1,000 in East Lancashire, will supply its Trent 700 engines to power seven of the airline’s A330 aircraft.
The order also includes TotalCare long-term service for the aircraft.
Fan blades for the engines will be manufactured at Rolls Royce’s bases in Barnoldswick.
Nick Devall, the firm’s boss of civil aerospace customer business, said: “THAI is a very important customer.
“The combination of the Trent 700 and the TotalCare support package will deliver to THAI significant reliability and performance benefits to enhance their operation.”
