The Friends of Victoria Park, Haslingden are asking residents, community groups and local children to help plant 6000 bulbs, including daffodils, crocuses and snowdrops, as well as over 120 fruit trees.

The organisers of the event feel as though the park has been neglected over the past few years and are organising a series of events over the coming twelve months to breathe new life into the park.

Everyone is invited to ‘just turn up' and they will be handed a bag of bulbs with a map of their planting area.

Taking a spade, flask of tea and umbrella might be a good idea, but it’s not essential.

To get involved just arrive at Victoria Park any time between 11am and 4pm on Saturday 23rd or Sunday 24th October.
