Nathan Ellington has confirmed he is currently training with Preston North End as the Watford striker attempts to find a new club.

The Hornets manager Malky Mackay has stated Ellington is not part of his plans and the former Wigan man is available on loan or a free transfer.

Ellington is Watford's highest paid player and the club would not be able to select the striker even if Mackay wanted to as another appearance will trigger a payment to former club West Bromwich Albion.

Ellington confirmed he was training with Preston, who hired former Hull City boss Phil Brown this week, via his Twitter page.

Phil Brown has a tad of a history for signing troublesome, perhaps not on form, but might pay off players e.g. Mido, Zaki, Geovanni, Cousins etc.

Hang on, he said he had flu, which was the reason he failed to show up at the training ground. Surely a fraudulent statement? Lets get the lawyers in because he must have breached his contract, in which case we can fire him.

Got to be worth a go.

I think that his whole contract could be fraudulent, impersonating a footballer comes to mind.

Ellington must go down as the worst ever signing this club has made, I thought Jamie Moralie was bad but at least he didn't almost take the club down in the process of being crap.

still i must away and round up our diversity coordinator ,mr dithers, he is currently bogged down with yet another inch thick tome of directives from the land of the sprout sellers ...apparently all cathedrals must now offer their facilities to any member of the community whose own religious practices can not be covered due to lack of opportunity.

in other wors he is under the mmisapprehension that a sacrifical altar must be constructed in full view of

Eddie Howe and Derek McInnes seem to be our other targets at the moment but both those do not have any Championship pedigree".

Surely Rick, it would be better for you to just let people think that you're a complete spoon than to make idiotic comments like this and prove the point beyond doubt!

Bishopofwatford,

NE didn't get the bus, he was hitch hiking off Junction Five. He told me he was trying to get to Preston for a run out. It took me less than 2 hours to get him there - we didn't stop - and I dropped him pitchside. I spent the next 1/2 hour telling them all what a great loss he would be and that they'd be signing a real bargain, guaranteed 25 goals a season. He'd fit in a treat.

It took me 6 hours to get down to see my Mum in Brighton......so worth it, I wish.
