MEMBERS of Accrington Theatre Group have hit the recording studio to raise money for the society.

Singers spent two Saturdays in the studio at the ACE Centre, Nelson, recording a selection of show tunes.

The company will celebrate the CD’s launch with a party at Accrington Stanley Football Club on Friday, with its 2011 show Madness musical Our House also being launched on the night.

Members Josh Hindle and Becca Ginley organised the recording sessions, and selected songs from the shows – including Skid Row, from Little Shop of Horrors, One Day More from Les Miserables, and All That Jazz from Chicago.

Josh said: “Every society needs a little extra money these days, and we thought it would be a great way to get members together between shows while doing something worthwhile for the theatre group.

“There are some fantastic singers in Accrington Theatre Group, but singing in a recording studio was a new and exciting experience for most of us.

“We hope people will enjoy listening to the CD as much as we enjoyed making it.”

New members are welcome to attend Friday’s party at the club’s ground in Livingstone Road, Accrington, from 7.30pm in the club bar, where there will be a Jacob’s join supper, music, raffle and other entertainment.

The CD will be on sale for £8. It can also be bought by contacting Accrington Theatre Group on Facebook.
