FRENCH lessons came to life when 15 Haslingden High pupils got to interview Blackburn Rovers defender Gael Givet in his native language.
The Year 9 students-turned-journalists interviewed the star after a tour around Ewood Park.
Student Owen Jackson, 13, said: “He was talking in English and then his agent said, ‘French only from now on'.
“We all had two questions to ask, while we were going round the ground we were practising our French by describing what we could see.
“It was quite nerve-wracking. I asked him who was the best player he had ever played against and he said Cristiano Ronaldo.”
It was part of a modern languages event organised by Blackburn Rovers Community Trust in partnership with the Premier League’s Creating Chances programme.
